Travel Diary: Hiking Through Slovenia

Slovenia – it’s just not like the rest of Europe. It’s central but isn’t nearly as popular as the rest of the countries and cities. Which is such a shame because it’s a naturally beautiful place, but is often overlooked and forgotten about. But it shouldn’t be. Slovenia is picture perfect with gorgeous mountains, caves, breath-taking lakes, and stunning city architecture.

It’s the one place that ticks all the boxes – nice people, jaw-dropping views, and plenty of things to do. Right in the middle of Croatia and Italy, poor Slovenia doesn’t get as much attention. But that’s never a bad thing, especially if you are wanting to go and explore places before any of your friends or anyone you know has!

Ljubljana is the capital and Slovenia. But, before you ask – no it isn’t too small. It’s a pretty, colourful city that’s full of people riding their bikes and locals walking around the riverside happily chatting to each other. Making it the perfect place, just because it’s friendly atmosphere. What makes it better is that it's unbelievably clean, making it great for photographs.

If you’re sort of a history buff, then this place is for you – as a country that had spent many years under foreign rule, you’ll see lots of insights into the different history that has happened there. Adam and Eve statues, world war two ruins and the statue of Prešeren are only a few examples. Also, because of being influenced by other countries, you’ll recognise this in its local cuisine as it takes inspiration from other places.

Luckily for you, us at Three Sixty have managed to get our hands-on Cristina Barone’s travel diary – so you get all the information and tips about it. You can thank us later.
